Happy 2016

Happy 2016

Happy New Year ! It was about time I came  back around here, after some time away form the computer ! I thought I would come back with an ordinary post, but in the end I wanted to come back on all the positive things of 2015, because there were quite some of them, and I hope there will be even more in 2016 !

January

The year started badly… we lost our little rabbit, Wooky, and two days later, the attacks happened… The only thing that got my head above water was the concert and the interview I made with Twin Atlantic at La Flèche d’Or. The atmosphere was weird, but it felt good !

February

In February, I rediscovered the department of Yvelines, thanks to an awesome press trip, I met great bloggers there <3

March

In March we moved into a new apartment \o/ Our previous moldy apartment was literally making me sick and this new apartment was like the beginning of a new life ! We’re still not done arranging it but I feel great in it <3

April

In April, to celebrate the 6th anniversary of the blog, I switched plateforms (bye bye Jimdo, hello WordPress) but I also switched designs thanks to the talented Sibylline <3 It wasn’t without trouble, I spent a lot of time on it, but I’m really happy to have this new format that looks more like me !

May

In May, I travelled around the United Kingdom to follow Twin Atlantic during their UK tour ! 5 concerts, 4 cities, 1 after, I came home exhausted but with a tons of memories !

IMG_2331

I also discovered the Basque coast, and I fell in love with this region !

June

In June, there’s always an awesome festival, and this year again, it was the Hellfest ! The line-upfor their 10 year anniversary was crazy, and we had a blast ! I hope to go back there next year (maybe as a volunteer) and I’m also looking forward to the Download festival and its awesome line-up !

hellfest-report-6775-2

July

July was also the month of festivals : la Nuit de l’Erdre, les Vieilles Charrues, and the Main Square Festival ! The Main Square was definitely the best, with Muse, Royal Blood and Twin Atlantic on the same day, but I also had a great time with Charlotte at the Vieilles Charrues !

August

In August, it was my first time travelling so far, I went 3 weeks on the Reunion island with my parents and my sisters, to discover the island and visit family there. It was a beautiful trip and I can’t wait to go back there !

September

September was a hair revolution for me, I let my bangs grow out. I’ve had bangs since I was 16, and it was hard to put an end to it, but the 3 weeks of vacation were a good excuse to let my hair be free. Today, I don’t regret it, since it put an end to 9 years of daily bangs washing.

blog-mode-nantes-haircut-0704

In September, I went back to the Basque coast with Nunien, going through Nortwest France to discover some areas we never had been to before, like Cap Ferret, quick recap here !

October

In October, I discovered my album of the year, In Dreams by Editors, and I listened to it in a loop ! I also saw them live twice that month, in addition to a lot of others concerts during in trip to London ! I fell in love with The Twilight Sad music, and I also experienced one of the best concerts of my life in a small London concert hall with Arcane Roots.

IMG_8169

Also during my stay, I visited my favourite brand, AKA The Whitepepper in their studios and we improvised a small Halloween photo shoot !

November

To celebrate their 15 year anniversary, Studio 54 organised a “flash night” and I feel for this Narwhal (I liked the idea of having a sort of sea unicorn tatooed on me) by Welle Frangette !

IMG_8946

Thanks to this, I didn’t go to the Bataclan concert on November 13 and this tattoo will always remind me of what happened that day… In the meantime, I’ll keep being a groupie and go to dozens of concerts this year.

December

At the beginning of December, I flew for a crazy blogger trip to Guadeloupe’s islands ! Thanks again to XL Airways, Guadeloupe tourist board, Article Onze agency and Des hôtels et des îles for that amazing reception !

IMG_9152

In December, the most long-awaited movie of this decade (for me and for quite a lot of people) was released and I wasn’t disappointed. After seeing it three times, I only found fault with the French subtitling that wasn’t really good and full of errors, but the rest left me speechless and with tears of joy.

IMG_9472

Speaking of tears of joy, I ended the year in the best way possible , that is to say with a concert of Biffy Clyro with Nunien and my concert friends (and so much more <3), who came from all over Europe to witness the big return of the band who will release its next album in April/May 2016. This year can only be good.

On that small flash-back, I wish you happiness, joy and success, we’re going to have to learn how to enjoy every bits of small moments of joy we get, because it is obvious we’re heading towards difficult years… Personally, I count on my family, my friends, music, trips and my inclination towards optimism to keep on going on. Always seeing the sun in cloudy days helped me a lot since I’ve been working as a freelancer, and I plan on continuing doing so, and good luck to all of you, and thank you for being here this year, on the blog, on my social medias and IRL. Blogging has been one of the things that did good daily <3
